Sleeping - Preview Trailer

dconant on March 4th, 2008

Based on the short story by acclaimed author Katharine Weber, Sleeping is a coming-of-age tale about a young girl (Tory Freeth) who accepts a babysitting job, where the parents (Brahman Salem and JERICHO's April Parker-Jones) instruct her not to check on the baby. As the night unfolds, and the girl fights her growing temptation to look in on the baby, she is brought to a cathartic moment of self-discovery.

I have seen so many amateur films on YouTube that as soon as I saw the YouTube logo, I was hesitant. But, I asked myself, "If it wasn't good, why would FOX, a trusted name for me, have it on their website?" So, I watched and what a treat. The music is perfect for the story. The actor's are really professional. The editing was spot on...not too much, not too little. Overall, excellent presentation! It was enough to make me actually pay to see it in the movie theaters instead of waiting for it to come out on Netflix.

This looks like a very intriguing film. The parents make a strange request by telling the babysitter not to look in on the baby. The next scene shows the father and the babysitter crying about something (probably the baby). This is a very gripping preview and definitely makes someone want to see this film.

The preview is very good at getting the point across.

Doug and Christina,

Did a great job putting this together, it takes an EYE to orchestrate as well as they did, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

April Parker, Brahman Salem, Tory Freeth, and Diane Hudock, GREAT job!

Doug was able to capture the story so well that my eyes got teary afterwards. That's what I call a GREAT director. I hope someone from Fox give this young kid an opportunity to work. I’ll hate to know Fox did not give him a shot to direct.

I know I never met you Doug, but I hope I do someday. If not, I wish you the best Man!!! Great Film! Great DP! Love it!
