Barack's (hopefully) victory night

For Young@Heart chorus and band: i sent this to Barack Obama's campaign....thought your group, or at least thos comfortable attending a democratic party event, would be a wonderful prelude to Barack's speech; see below:

I know you probably have an election night planning group already working hard on the features of the "hopefully" celebration night...but here's an idea for a worthwhile gamble:
Just before Barack and family hit the stage, have an ensemble do the famous Toussant-Dorsey song "Yes we Can, Can"....Allen Toussaint and Elvis Costello do a great collaborative version on this and Allen can pull together some all stars out of New Orleans such as the original rhythm section for the song:the Meters. For a back up choir you need folks who can say the word "can" about 72 times so i recommend the Young @ Heart choir, older adults out of New England,foxsearchlight.com/youngatheart/ and any school choir out of the Ninth Ward...children learn this school in nursery school.
